The new adventure begins. Dana started his new job in Vancouver at "The Columbian" as everyone knows I'm sure a month ago. 28 Days into the 90 day probation and the boys and I are ready to pull our hair out and become a family again! Last week we got all moved out of our home in Almira which we thought we were never leaving. We are in between at my parents house in Wenatchee for right now.
We purchased a Layton Travel Trailer that is our new home for now. We choose to do this for the short term to save money and get into a home that we would like to be living in preferably in the country a little bit away from the hustle of the city. We will be living in Washougal, 20 miles from Vancouver. I still have not seen it. Dana has taken pictures and sent them to me. I have done the "Bird's Eye" view from MSN for Washougal to the address there. It is all still a mystery to me.

It appears that I get to redo wallpaper here! We'll see how that goes. I don't plan on doing this until after the kitchen is done. I did buy new flooring but I think I'll wait until Dana and Derek work their magic first before installing that.

Derek & Trent and um....Sigh, I think that I have had this kind of cleanliness before! At least it's just the OUTSIDE this time!

January 2008
The staircase frame is inside ready to be painted. We measured 15 times and cut the hole and thought we would need to cut it again but alas the hole is TOO BIG, granted it's pushed up against the wall right now and tied to a beam to hold it in place. We need to build a base for it to raise the lone "V" shaped step to above the subfloor up there. Plus we'll be able to get drywall upstairs with the gap there. The repair work and getting it round is going to be fun... but we just won't go there yet. I'm on my way to sand and paint because Dana just hung the plastic floor to ceiling while I was typing and downloading pictures. I have a really pretty New England Birch plywood and a stain that I will pick up tomorrow in the city along with the new counters for the kitchen! I also am in the middle of resurfacing the original cast iron kitchen sink too. I'll post pix of the ugly sink tomorrow, I'm out of light now.

This is the view into the unfinished section. Plus our handsome boys. Sorry about the spot lights I had just painted the stairwell casement over there. The chimney is the 1/3 way mark it's 15' from the front window to the chimney and another 30' back to the backside of the house. We are just wanting for the drywall fairy to come and bring us drywall and then we'll get it all framed in. TAX RETURN!!!!!!

You would think I could figure out this posting! It stacks from new to old. The pix I intended to be first is 3rd! Oops! Anyway here is another upstairs view. The new window is being hidden by the drywall propped up against it. There is a 8 inch rise were the "bedroom" is going to be. It was just necessary because of the way the structural beams are. The side attic trusses are 50" tall the apex is 9' (apex is the tallest center part) and the ceiling thingys are 8' long. The room is 14' wide and 45' long. We are going to complete 24' of it now. With the bathroom at the other end with a projected complete date of 2009! Unless of course we find $1,000,000 hidden in a unknown closet!

The crib. A grandma in Almira (not one of ours) was getting rid of this crib, it was in perfect condition and just beautiful but very old. Age usually just makes things more beautiful but the slats were too far apart. Dana and I added the round ones and stained them. It looks like it's always been that way.
